Based on the NBA players and legendary stats thread, I'd like to start a thread where a poster takes their favorite championship team and rates their players by what they believe their potential (based on total career stats, not necessarily where they were at the time of the championship) would be if they were in BB.

I'll start with my favorite championship team, the 1989 Detroit Pistons as an example

Isiah Thomas all-time great
Joe Dumars hall of famer
Mark Aguirre allstar
Rick Mahorn star
Bill Laimbeer allstar
Vinnie Johnson starter
James Edwards starter
John Salley starter
Dennis Rodman allstar (looking back, it's surprising he was only voted to the all-star team twice)
John Long starter
Micheal Williams starter
Fennis Dembo bench warmer

And a special mention to Adrian Dantley, whom a lot of Pistons fans felt should not have been traded for Mark Aguirre - hall of famer

Interesting idea, but potential is not the same as actually skillset.
A guy like Derrick Coleman would probably be an all-time great potential player but with a salary no where near that cap in BB terms.

On the other hand, within the game logic of BB Dennis Rodman is probably a star potential player who "received training after reaching his cap" and far exceeded his perceived ceiling.

I would also argue that if you were to transfer the NBA into the world of BB even NBA twelf men would be well above the "bench warmer" or even "starter" potential levels. Talent, particularly prior to the late 90, in the real basketball world clusters in one league (the NBA) far more than it does in BB.

Not sure about that. I'd argue that in most of the well established top divisions in BB the rotation players have salaries equivalent to no less than the cap of the "star" potential level.

I agree, but they cluster on multiple teams in multiple leagues in multiple countries. The top players in the real world are over represented in the NBA with some comparable players spread across maybe five or six other top flight leagues. The top talent in BB is far more dispersed than in the the real world.
