Hi, I'v just created a new account after I screwed up my old one and my first game is in 1 hour. Technically, I'm not a noob because I had been playing my other account for some time. The only thing I was not sure about in both accounts was training. I set Train Jump Shot for Guards yesterday, but no jump shot sats are up. Also, how do I train 1 specific player? The player I want to train is set as my starting PG for my next game. So even if it's not his best position, (don't know how to view that either) would he still be included in the training? And can I select him individually? Here he is: Glenn Jones (7436462)
The last thing is after I set the training, I notice the training box from the Management menu and there were no name's listed! I'm probably making no sense with all these question but I am just the biggest noob EVEr when it comes to training.

PLEASE HELP!

Briefly, whatever your training setting is now can still be adjusted before this weeks training applies, so don't panic yet.

If you chose a "single position training" like Handling for Point guard, then whichever players get minutes in this week's games will get some training benefit on Friday morning when the actual training happens. So you could play three different players at Point Guard in the next three games... set your training on Thursday night after the last game, and those three will get some training for the week.

Glenn Jones is not a good choice to train because he is 29 years old. Thats too old for training.

The 18 year olds u have are only bench warmer so wouldn't be worth training. The best guy you have to train looks like Zurlo your 19 year old SG. I would look to buy some more 18-19 year old guards. Potential doesn't have to be that high around star should suffice. Depends how much money u have but if i can get about 4 more guards you should do 2 position guard training ie PG/SG. If u can only afford to buy a couple more guards then do 1 position training until u get a couple more guys in possibly through the draft next season or when u have more money this season. Generally i think 2 position training is better when your new.

I would like to know on what basis you think so.

I also agree with aussie dude.

I think that when you are new you don't have many good players, so it is better if you train 5 or 6 players at 2 positions because then you have 5 or 6 players that are constantly improving and 2 position training isn't that much less effective than 1 position training.

If new teams do 1 position training, then they are only improving 3 players while the rest of the team would still suck.

Why do you think 1 position training is better?

I do not necessarily believe 1 position is better, although it is the approach I am taking currently.

However I am always interested in learning and hearing other points of view so thoughts on why 2 position training is more beneficial may make me reconsider what I am doing.

Okay. Well last season was my first season, I did 2 position training the whole season on young guys (18-21). I had 6 young guys. I had 6 cheap older guys to fill the other spots. At the end of the season I sold all of them for lots of money after I promoted. This season I got a very good draftee and I want to train him for the national team, so I am 1 position training this season, and with all the money I had I bought a bunch of older guys for the other spots.

Well can't knock the approach. From my limited experience, your team looks pretty strong for one just over a season old.

Well 2 position training gives you more total training then 1 position training it is just spread across more players. When your new and in the lower divisions i think a solid even team is enough to promote. It's more in the higher divisions where the 1 position trained stars with the high potential become more important. It's also a money thing if your doing 1 position training wages will rise fast especially on big men. It will also cost more to buy trainees because if u are doing 1 position training you will want high potential guys so you can train them for longer.
