Hey guys, what the heck do I do with this guy?

Tory Shaylor (13436902)
Shooting Guard
Owner: West Island Tigers
Weekly salary: $ 6 206
DMI: 0
Age: 18
Height: 7'0" / 213 cm
Potential: allstar
Game Shape: respectable
Jump Shot: average Jump Range: respectable
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: atrocious
Driving: awful Passing: awful
Inside Shot: inept Inside Def.: average
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: average
Stamina: atrocious Free Throw: mediocre

Experience: atrocious

As a 7' shooting guard he will train really slowly. I also drafted a 7'1 SF and a 7'2" C. Wow what a tall draft. I have been training guards but my big guys are horrid so it would be nice to change and improve the overall team a bit. I guess I could sell him but honestly I like him - but would have liked him a lot more at 5'9".

Training him as a guard is out of the question due to his height. His inside skills are a little low but if you train them up he could potentially make a decent SF. If he is trained alongside your new SF and new C they would make a good trio who will train fast in inside skills. The other option would be to keep training your guards and sell all the new guys to fund the purchase of a good big guy.

personally i think he will make a really nice power forward.
he brings some extra outside def against those shooting pf's which is where i think he will shine compared to other comparable forwards.

Yeah good point. The atrocious handling isn't a good starting point for a SF.

JS and ( if I'm not mistaken) JR doesnt have a training penalty for overgrown players due to Nowitzki type of players from RL. So the only skills you dont want to train much because of the speed are OD (which he has at 7 which is good to go for a big men), HN, Dr, Passing. Passing I wouldn't rule out as he could be turnover prone (depends on the oppositon he will face) so maybe it would be beneficial to upgrade it to mediocre one day (possible secondary pops in HN and DR wouldn't hurt either). Otherwise inside skills are way to go. Those out of position players from draft are actually blessings in disguise if they have reasonably distributed skills, especially the defenses.

Don't be afraid of his low potential. Add him to your training program, he can be a nice SF or PF. He won't be your go to guy but all around players are always neccessary to succeed. You have the option to sell him after a couple of seasons and make some profit. This guy will give you flexibility and won't hurt your current training regimen. Iif you are currently training big men he will fit, his height is a concern but he might get PG/SG training either. I guess you should start with some ID and and REB training then train JS.

Is it really true that there is no penalty for overgrown players training js and jr?or you are just guessing?
