I can't quite sort out how to reliably reproduce this, but it happens to me a fair bit. I'll be looking at a thread with 12 or more unread messages. I get to the bottom of the page of messages and click the forward arrow for the next page. At times, instead of taking me to message n like I might expect, it takes me to message n+11. If there aren't more than a full page worth of messages left, that means I get a page with the forum headers, but no messages.

Edit: It's the bottom of the two next buttons that I'm talking about. Maybe when generating these pages, the two next counters are sometimes set to n and n+11 instead of both to n?]

I've noticed this at times also.

NO ONE at this table ordered a rum & Coke
Charles: Penn has some good people
A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score
Any five are live

It's been at 2.5 months since I reported this, and it's still driving me absolutely nuts. Any news?

It's never been 100% reproducible... I would guess it happens to me the majority of the time.

To try to reproduce, go to any forum thread with more than 12 unread messages. Click on the plain forward arrow at the top of the thread (where the priority dropdown, etc. are). Most of the time that will not take you to the next page, but to the next page after the next page. If there are less than 11 more messages to be shown, you get a page with no messages at all.

I think it's kind of the same error as this one;

When there are new posts, you click on the topic to read it. Then when you click on the "previous posts" button, it goes back to the very 1st post, instead of the previous page.
The previous page button has the same effect as the 1st page button in this case.

It might be related, it might not. Probably best to keep that issue to the thread you already opened on it (16956.1) and not risk confusing the original issue.

Hmmm. I just tried a couple of the big Global threads, and things worked correctly (although they haven't in the past)... so I went to BB Rossiya and its first unread message for me was this: (10049.134). When I clicked the arrow, it went to (10049.155). So, there's an example. Maybe you can cross-reference with your web server logs, I don't know.

I just did another one in BB Global (English). This thread was completely unread to me with thirteen messages: (19885.1) When I used the forward arrow, I got a page with no messages, when it should have instead showed me the three messages starting with (19885.11)
